"Ashes" is a photogram showing my facial imprint as if it were a fingerprint. Years ago when I renewed my passport I learned that my fingerprints were eroded to the point of being virtually unrecognisable. I wondered who I was. The title refers to the fleeting nature of the individual and the durability of our essence. The allegory derives from the emotional connection between the ashes of a body and their plasticity to model portraits.
