This is a contemporary photographic interpretation of the original portrait painting of princess Maria Abamelek-Lazareva (1900s) by Nikolay Bogdanov-Belsky (Russia, 1868-1945). My team and I use the designs by contemporary Dutch couturiers, never historical costumes, so the result are always in line with the contemporary zeitgeist.
