Patrick Tehan retired after a forty-year career as a staff photographer at seven newspapers around the country, including twenty-four years at the San Jose Mercury News.
In 1992 he was named runner-up Newspaper Photographer of the Year by the National Press Photographers Association for his work at the Pittsburgh Press.
Tehan has contributed to more than 20 books, including several in the Day in the Life series: America, California, Spain, the Soviet Union, China, Italy and Ireland.
He has won multiple awards for his photography and was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize three times and was a finalist in 2003.
He currently resides in Cincinnati, Ohio.
