Giovanna Viola is a Chilean - American multidisciplinary artist specializing in fine art Photography. From an early age, she has been passionate about creativity, this path took her to get a degree in filmmaking (2013), but that wasn’t enough. Her enthusiasm for adventure and knowledge led her to move to the US in 2015. While adapting to this new world, she felt the necessity to create. She taught herself to paint with oils, sculpting, and other artistic techniques. In 2016 encouraged by her loved ones, she began showing her art to the public at art festivals; after experiencing success in those events, she became more eager to explore new ways to make art.
In 2018 she decided to take everything she has learned through the years into fine art photography, creating surreal characters and worlds with an underline of darkness. Primarily using self-portrait, her favorite work topics come from the observation of human life experiences, transience, life and death, resilience, darkness and light, and rebirth. She is always looking for the beauty in the darkness, in the uncommon and the weird.
