Country: Spain 🇪🇸
Lurdes, hailing from Spain, works in the Radiology unit of a hospital where she also nurtures her passion for photography. From a young age, she developed a deep love for animals, growing up alongside them and learning invaluable lessons from their companionship. She often describes animals as her greatest emotional teachers.
At the age of nine, Lurdes asked for a camera as a birthday gift, sparking a lifelong interest in capturing the beauty of both wild and domestic animals. This connection with nature became a profound need, motivating her to leave a legacy through her photography.
Five years ago, Lurdes began her journey with a professional camera, gradually expanding her equipment and knowledge. She studied photography and advanced editing techniques, always striving to improve her craft. Her journey has been a continuous learning experience, as she believes that there's always more to learn.
Currently, Lurdes is working with a Canon R3 on an important conservation project called "Our Species," driven by the belief that it is our responsibility to respect and protect the natural world. She hopes to share this project with a wider audience one day.
Despite her relatively short career in photography competitions, Lurdes has already received several accolades:
2020: 3rd prize in macrophotography at the Festival of Migratory Birds in Santoña, Spain
2020: Finalist in the Endangered Art4Apes Fine Art Photography competition, with an exhibition in a Florida art gallery
