Gemma Pepper is a British artist and photographer who explores identity, intergenerational trauma and our relationship with nature. Her work is often created from forgotten, lost or discarded objects - particularly found photographs. She mainly uses analogue techniques such as cyanotype and mixed media to create unique one-offs. Her works have been honoured, published and exhibited internationally. Some of her works and photo series are in public and private collections.
She studied Fine Art Photography at Llandrillo College in Rhos-on-Sea (North Wales) and at the University of Derby (England). In 2021 she completed her Master of Arts ZFH in Art Education with a specialisation in Curatorial Studies at the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK).
Since 2022 she has been represented by Galerie Esther Woerdehoff (Paris/Geneva). In the same year, she received the Elles x Paris Photo Award, and her work has been presented at Photo Basel, Paris Photo and AIPAD in New York, among others.
