Jean Dykstra is the editor of photograph magazine and a longtime art critic who writes regularly about photography. She has contributed essays to numerous exhibition catalogues and books on photography, including, most recently, Running Falling Flying Floating Crawling (2020, Saint Lucy Books), Walter Chandoha: Dogs: Photographs, 1941-1991 (2020, Taschen), and A Trilogy by Jessica Backhaus (2017, Kehrer Verlag). She was the juror for the exhibition Wonder for the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO (fall 2018), and she curated the exhibition Traces of the Material World at the Happy Lucky Gallery in Brooklyn (2017). She has been a panelist several times at the AIPAD Photography Show in New York City.
