Ursula Reinke

Country: Germany 🇩🇪

Although I have been photographing primarily architecture for several years, I am not an architectural photographer. My aim is not to depict a building as naturalistically as possible, but rather to take up the shapes, structures and visual axes, the lighting conditions and, in the best case, reinterpret them.
I can't say what actually fascinates me about architectural photography. Maybe that I can combine these motifs very well with my other interests? I like to travel, am interested in modern art and therefore often visit exhibitions at fascinating museums.

My fine art architectural photos are edited with various techniques, most often replacing the sky with a neutral gradient to isolate the extraordinary structure of a building.
I was born in 1956 and live in the western part of Germany near Duesseldorf. Photography was part of my design studies at the University of Applied Sciences at the late 1970s. Creative techniques, studio photography and work in the black and white photo lab belonged to my education. While I was working as a designer for an US company for many years, I captured many events with the analog camera. Later I worked as a senior consultant in a media agency. I have been a member of the German Association for Photography (DVF) for more than 10 years and achieved many great successes in their competitions.

Currently I am planning a trip to Japan, other impressive photo locations were New York, Rajasthan in India, a road trip through Namibia, for example.
