Jaime Travezán

Lima, 1963. Autodidact. I began working as a photojournalist in my hometown Lima in Peru, adding to my interest fashion and portraiture once I settled in London in 1985. My images has been published in many magazines including ID, Elle and Vogue, as well as newspapers like The Guardian, The Times and El País. I have covered different topics, from celebrity portraiture to the Kosovo War in 1999.
I’m currently involved in art projects. My work has been exhibited at the National Portrait Gallery in London -as part of the Taylor Wessing Portrait Prize-, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Lima (MAC), the Cervantes Institutes in Paris and Madrid, Museo Nacional de Culturas Populares in Mexico City, among others museums, galleries and art fairs. My images has been honoured in some international awards including the Fine Art Photography Awards (FAPA), Photography Awards (IPA), Prix de la Photographie, Paris (PX3), Moscow Photo Awards (MIFA), Tokyo International Photo Awards (TIFA), SeeMe Awards and PDN. In 2014 I got nominee for Photographer of the Year at the Lucie Awards.
