I am a humanitarian photographer dedicated to illuminating the lives and stories of people and communities often overlooked. Through powerful visual storytelling, I capture moments of grace, beauty, resilience, dignity, and strength, fostering more profound understanding and empathy.
In addition to photography, I am the author of a new book, MIS[S]UNDERSTOOD, which explores the pivotal role of women in the Irish Traveller community, highlighting their importance as the cornerstone of family life. In this close-knit, culturally rich community, these women not only uphold traditions but also navigate the challenges of preserving their way of life in a radically changing world. Through their stories, I shed light on their strength, resilience, and beauty.
I continue to explore creative storytelling across multiple mediums.
Passionate about representation in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math), I have been working on a long-term project project showcasing African American professionals as role models for students of color. This work is especially timely in response to evolving diversity challenges in the current political landscape.
Another project I am working on is titled ‘Feminization of Aging’. I am photographing abandoned elderly women in different countries to bring this global epidemic to the forefront. Research shows that in older populations, the proportion of women compared to men is higher. Due to social, economic, and cultural challenges facing women worldwide, policies to support these issues are essential. Improving the quality of their lives through increased access to health and social services and implementing empowerment programs can enhance the quality of their lives and reduce social isolation. Loneliness among the elderly is a significant issue with wide-ranging impacts on their mental and physical health.
